Marginalen acquires the Sergel Group from Telia Company AB, an acquisition that includes Sergel’s operations in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Latvia and Lithuania with 360 employees.
The deal, already signalled in 2016, has now been approved by all supervisory authorities and was completed on 30 June 2017.
Sergel is one of the Nordic Region’s leading supplier of the entire Credit Management Services (CMS) value chain, with a broad customer base including customers in all areas, from banking, finance and eCommerce to the public sector and telecommunications. Debt collection is the main business area but the company is also one of Sweden’s biggest suppliers of text messaging (SMS) services.

The company has operations in Sweden, Latvia and Lithuania, and with about 700 employees, the group offers services in banking and financing, credit services and debt collection, economic administration, law and HR for private consumers and businesses.
Sergel is a Swedish debt collection company founded in 1988 as the Telia Company’s (back then the state-owned telephone company – Televerket) internal debt collecting arm. Today Sergel is one of the leading suppliers of credit and debt collection services in the Nordics and Baltics.
