Why have I recieved a payment demand?

If you don’t pay your invoice in time, it may be passed on for debt collection. The debt collection demand is normally sent to your registered address, or to the company’s registered business address.

If you have paid the invoice before receiving the demand, it is important for you to check your payment. If your payment has been registered on the recipient’s account the same day as the date quoted on the demand or later, you are obliged to pay any interest and debt collection costs. If the claim relates to rent arrears, you are obliged to pay interest and debt collection costs if you have paid the same day as the date quoted on the demand or later, i.e. for this type of claim, the amount is deemed to have reached the landlord immediately when it is paid and not when the payment is recorded on the recipient’s bank account.

I paid the invoice before I recieved the demand. Do I still have to pay the debt collection costs?

If your payment has been registered on the recipient’s account the same day as the date quoted on the demand or later, you are obliged to pay any interest and debt collection costs.

This does not apply to rent arrears. For this type of claim, the amount is deemed to have reached the landlord immediately after payment and not when the payment has been recorded on the recipient’s bank account.

How do I know that my payment has been received?

It takes 1-3 working days for your payment to reach us (depending on how you made the payment), after which the information relating to your case will be updated on My pages.
